November 4, 2012 - What Henry Smells

Today my favorite moment was when Henry said in a disappointed tone, "I smell...[dramatic pause like he is trying to figure out the scent he is picking up]....my farts!" Like he was surprised it gross or something.  It's just funny the things a four year old will say.

October 17, 2012 - Two Brothers

Today my favorite moment was when we were at the store and I was ready to go so I started to walk away and Jaxon wasn't following so I told him bye, and Henry said to me, "Don't leave Jaxon.  I want two brothers!"

August 17, 2012 - Great Idea, huh?

Today my favorite moment was when Jaxon was telling me about his plan to hide his untucked shirt from his teacher at school.  He said, "I zipped up my jacket so she couldn't see that I didn't tuck in my shirt.  It's a great idea, huh?"  I just laughed because he thinks he is so clever and that he also thinks he has great ideas.  But we are really going to have to get him to understand he's got to tuck it in...

August 9, 2012 - Foldermort

Today my favorite moment was when Henry said, "Maybe he's called Foldermort 'cause he folds things.  Yeah, he folds envelopes."  [Voldermort] lol  Yeah, Henry...maybe...

July 9, 2012 - Baby Names

Today my favorite moment happened when Devin, my brother, my dad, and I were discussing baby names.  I said I like the name Eleanor, and also want to use the middle name Ann, but when Eleanor is shortened to Ellie and put with Ann... Ellie Ann... it sounds like alien.  As I explained this my dad said that kids will find something about any name to make a joke about.  I said how do you make fun of Ardell?  (his name)  He said, "Smar-fell."  Devin, Joshua, and I all started cracking up!  Seriously, who has ever heard that word?  It sounds hilarious and it was hilarious when he said it because none of us expected it.  I love a good laugh especially when it's with people I love.

June 26, 2012 - Grease

Today my favorite moment was when Jaxon asked me, "Why is my skin shiny?"  I have no idea, so I told him, "'Cause you're healthy."  And he said, "Maybe because I'm starting to get grease like daddy."

Kid, you're only 5.  I sure hope you aren't already getting grease.

June 25, 2012 - Moon Pop

Background:  There's an Asian man in our grocery store who sells rice cakes.  This guy shouts, "Moon Pop rice cakes!" from his little booth near the sushi counter.  My kids think it's funny and when we pass him (and even when we are at home) they do impressions of him.

Today my favorite moment happened when my little guy Henry and I were at the grocery store.  Henry knew we were almost to the Moon Pop guy and he looked at me with a smile on his face and said excitedly, "He's gonna say it..."

June 19, 2012 - Potato Bug

Today my favorite moment was a conversation I had with Henry...

Henry:  "This potato bug out here is sad."

Mommy:  "Why?"

Henry:  "Cuz I drive on it.  That's why it's sad.  I was sorry for doing that."

February 13, 2012 - A Punch in the Face

Today my favorite moment was when Henry was talking to his cat stuffed animal and told him, "You'll get a bum spank if you do that again."  Jaxon said to Henry, "No, Henry.  Cats don't get bum spanks."  "Okay," Henry said, "You'll get a punch in the face."  I started cracking up 'cause really, a punch in the face?  Woah.

January 22, 2012 - Henry

Today my favorite moment was when Henry said, "Mommy, smell my armpit.  Smell it!  It's not stinky 'cause I taked a bath."

January 20, 2012 - Yoda

Today my favorite moment was when Jaxon said, "Yoda smells like soy beans because he is green."

January 18, 2012 - Henry

Today my favorite moment was when I told Henry to spit out the penny he put in his mouth and he said, "But I blowed the dirt off!"

October 31, 2011 - Halloween Candy Bowl

Today my favorite moment was when Jaxon stuck his hand in a Halloween bowl at the store and the pretend hand closed down on his and he got so scared!  It was hilarious because he didn't know I was watching him.  It really surprised him and he jumped back so fast!  The look on his face was so funny too!  Maybe I shouldn't have laughed, but I couldn't help it!  He thought it was funny too after the shock wore off, so I don't feel too bad for laughing!

October 24, 2011 - Henry

Today my favorite moment was when Henry was looking at a stuffed animal that had been chewed on a little by the dogs.  He said, "Look at his ear.  The dogs chewed it up then pooped it out.  That what Jaxon told me."  Those two together are such a crazy pair!

October 20, 2011 - Henry

Today my favorite moment happened after we got home from running errands.  It was late, so we were skipping baths and just washing, hands, feet, and faces, and putting clean clothes on the boys.  When Henry learned he wasn't going to have a bath he asked, "Do I don't have a stinky bum?"  First, I love the way he forms sentences.  Second, I think it's funny that he thinks the reason he gets baths is because his bum is stinky.  I guess he is right though!

September 30, 2011 - Henry's Dinosaur

Today my favorite moment was listening to my boys have a conversation about dinosaurs:

Henry, "I want to see a scary dinosaur that says 'Warrr!'"

Jaxon, "No, Henry.  He would eat you."

Henry, "No!  I would punch him!"

Jaxon, "But he would be too big."

Henry, "I would punch him in the tummy.  Haha!"

September 21, 2011 - Ruining My Life

Today my favorite moment was when Jaxon said to me, "You're ruining my life!"  It wasn't really my favorite, but I want to remember he said that at age 4.  Yes, age 4.  As in f-o-u-r.  Like, after 3 and before 5.  I thought it was something teenagers say.  I literally laughed out loud when he said it because I couldn't believe it.  I even said, "What?" so he would repeat it and I could make sure it was really what I thought I heard.  People tell me that girls are dramatic, but I say Jaxon is pretty dramatic.

He said it because I told him he could not have more blueberries until he had eaten his cauliflower.  I guess that would ruin a person's life.  How could I?

September 19, 2011 - Jaxon

Today my favorite moment happened after we had finished eating Burger King for lunch and I told Jaxon to get a drink and he asked, "To wash down all that junk?"  How great is it that he thought the food was "junk"?  Haha!  The wisdom of a 4-year-old!

August 16, 2011 - The Solution to A Stinky Bum

Today my favorite moment was when I overheard Jaxon and Henry talking.  Jaxon gave Henry some good advise: "Your bum stinks.  If you take a bath it won't stink."  He's right.  At least about the second part.

June 27, 2011 - Polio

So, this is a long story and it's late so I will write it all out tomorrow, but it was a great moment and it involved Devin making a joke about something someone said to me at church yesterday.  I know you are all on the edge of your seats.
